Welcome to the MODIS workflow tutorial page.
The purpose of this tutorial is to get a user quickly up to speed in working with the GeoChronos MODIS workflow module.
The idea behind the MODIS module is to automate the processes of MODIS data mosaicing, reprojection and extraction of a region of interests. The automation is applied on a set of MODIS image files with the final result being a set of reprojected TIFF files, containing the desired data pixels.
The MODIS module consists of three components: input data repository, workflow web interface and computation engine, and results repository. The input data repository consists of MODIS data products which are available for processing. A GeoChronos user mainly interacts with the workflow web interface and the data results repository. It is through the interface that a user specifies the desired workflow characteristics when creating a new workflow. The data results repository is used to browse the output of a workflow and is the other major component with which the user interfaces. The web workflow interface and the results repository along with instructions of how to use them are described in detail in this tutorial.
